Lately the project directed to help orphans have been created. More and more Christian families adopt orphaned kids. But what if a child has no chance to be adopted because they are either addicts already or have AIDS? They have been living on the street for a long time. They forget whet the family, clean bed and normal food mean. All they have is a habitual terror of basements, polyethylene sack with some glue and decaying wounds caused by dirty syringes… And what if they are only 8, 10, 12 years old or maybe 5 or 6… And they are already street kids.
In Donetsk the representatives of different confessions discussed the problems of HIV/AIDS and the ways of overcoming the epidemics in Ukraine. The public is certain that churches are the great potential and a huge resource which can actively participate in the struggle against the plague of the 21st century. The Charity Fund “Pilgrim” which has been dealing with rehabilitation for over 11 years already and this work includes HIV+ people, also took part in the round table.
The street kids who got to the center of children’s rehabilitation “ Republic “ Pilgrim”, unfortunately, quit their bad habits not immediately. So in one of the trip of pilgrims to the theatre 3 charms were stolen from the trading tray of the hall of the Theater of Drama. It has resulted in the court over the thieves.
In one of “busy” Mondays about a hundred young people of the Church of Good Changes assembled for the next God Change Party. This time bowling was in program. Adrenaline read off scale.
Each person dreams about something. It’s characteristic to the street kids too regardless of tough tests they had in their life they still see in their life only light future. In “Republic “Pilgrim” they were writing the composition in the theme “My future”.
I am sitting and getting prepared to the evening when I’ll have to hug the little boy and to say something that is hard to hear even at the age of 35 ( I know it on my own experience). This is from the category of the news you can never be prepared for and we aren’t ready to hear it at any age.
